The Start Sailing 1 & 2 program is an accredited Australian Sailing course conducted by qualified instructors from our Discover Sailing Centre. The course introduces adults and teenagers to sailing over 6-8 Saturday mornings spanning 16th January 2021 to 27th March 2021. Extra sessions dates have been shceduled to provide flexibility and allow for potential weather interuptions.  Sessions will be held on the following dates in 2021: 16th January, 30th January, 13th February, 20th February, 27th February, 6th March, 13th March, 27th March.

Sessions commence at 8:30am and conclude at 11:30am. The program is conducted using the Chelsea Yacht Club Pacer fleet.

Participants will be issued an Australian Sailing number if they do not already have one, their own mysailor account, and temporary membership of Chelsea Yacht Club during the 'learn to sail' activities. This is required for insurance purposes.

The Start Sailing 1&2 course costs $300. It provides twenty hours of qualified instruction, a Certificate on completion and a pathway to the capable enjoyment of sailing, whether that is sailing in club events, or just doing your own thing.

Chelsea Yacht Club is offering membership discounts for the remainder of the 2020/21 season (season is May 1st 2020 to April 30th 2021)  to participants in 'learn to sail' courses:

• Family membership (inc. students < 25 years): $160.00 (normally $490);
• Senior membership (>26 years): $120.00 (normally $365);
• Intermediate (18-25 years): $60.00 (normally $195)
• Juniors (under 18 years): $30.00 (normally $97).

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Sailing 1 And Start Sailing 2 completion certificate.
