This course aims to provide water confident children aged 7-12 with a fun, safe and affordable way to get into sailing. Designed for participants who wish to have fun and learn the basics of sailing through games on and off the water.

By the end of the Tackers 2 course, the participants will be able to:
•Get out of irons on their own
•Safely gybe the boat
•Correctly use the tiller extension
•Sailing around a triangle course, including: â—¦Upwind - on a close hauled course tacking through the 'no go zone'
â—¦Downwind - with centreboard up
â—¦Reaching - correct sail position

•Demonstrate a 360 and 720-degree turn

You will gain your Tackers 2 completion certificate.

Tackers1-Having Fun is an accredited Australian Sailing course conducted by qualified instructors from our Discover Sailing Centre. The course introduces younger children to sailing over seven Saturday mornings spanning 1st February to 4th April. Sessions will be held on the following dates: Sat 1st Feb; Sat 8th Feb; Sat 22nd Feb; Sat 29th Feb; Sat 14th March; Sat 28th March; Sat 4th April.

Sessions commence at 9:00am and conclude at 11:30am.

The Tackers1 course costs $270. It provides qualified instruction, a Tackers Pack containing a hat, rashie and water bottle in a carry bag, and a Certificate of completion at the end of the course.

Substantial membership discounts for the remainder of the 2019/2020 season are on offer to participants in 2020 'learn to sail' courses:

• Family membership (inc. students < 25 years): $150.00 (normally $460);
• Juniors (under 18 years): $30.00 (normally $92).
