The Start Sailing 1 & 2 program is an accredited Australian Sailing course conducted by qualified instructors from our Discover Sailing Centre. The course introduces adults and teenagers to sailing over eight Saturday mornings spanning 1st February to 4th April. Sessions will be held on the following dates: 1st February, 8th February, 22nd February, 29th February, 14th March, 28th March, 4th April.

Sessions commence at 9:00am and conclude at 11:30am. The program is conducted using the Chelsea Yacht Club Pacer fleet.

Participants will be issued an Australian Sailing number if they do not already have one, their own mysailor account, and temporary membership of Chelsea Yacht Club during the 'learn to sail' activities. This is required for insurance purposes.

The Start Sailing 1&2 course costs $270. It provides twenty hours of qualified instruction, a Certificate on completion and a pathway to the capable enjoyment of sailing, whether that is sailing in club events, or just doing your own thing.

Chelsea Yacht Club is offering substantial membership discounts for the 2019/2020 season to participants in 'learn to sail' courses:

• Family membership (inc. students < 25 years): $150.00 (normally $460);
• Senior membership (>26 years): $100.00 (normally $345);
• Intermediate (18-25 years): $50.00 (normally $184.00)
• Juniors (under 18 years): $30.00 (normally $92).

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Sailing 1 And Start Sailing 2 completion certificate.
